The BlogSafety forum is for parents, teens, educators, advocates - everyone engaged in and interested in the impact of the social Web. CCIU

The Computer Crime Investigative Unit's (CCIU) primary mission is to conduct criminal investigations concerning intrusions into U.S. Army computer networks. Because investigations of this nature require a level of computer expertise not usually found in most CID Special Agents, CCIU personnel receive advanced computer training from the Defense Cyber Investigations Training Academy, Federal Law Enforcement Training Center and other technical experts. CCIU Special Agents also use their specialized knowledge of information technology to provide guidance to other CID Special Agents who conduct investigations involving computers and assist the U.S. Army in maintaining the integrity and security of its networks. The Department of Defense Cyber Crime Center (DC3)

The Department of Defense Cyber Crime Center (DC3) was created as a Department of Defense (DoD) center of excellence to efficiently organize, equip, train, and employ scarce resources to more effectively address the proliferation of computer crimes affecting the DoD. The Defense Computer Forensics Lab’s (DCFL) mission is to provide digital evidence processing, analysis, and diagnostics for any DoD investigation that requires computer forensic support to detect, enhance, or recover digital media, to include audio and video. The Defense Computer Investigations Training Program (DCITP) provides computer investigation training to forensic examiners, investigators, system administrators, or any other DoD members who must ensure Defense information systems are secure from unauthorized use, criminal and fraudulent activities, and foreign intelligence service exploitation. The Defense Cyber Crime Institute (DCCI) is at the leading edge of computer technologies and techniques through research, development, testing and evaluation (RDT&E) applied to digital evidence processing and computer forensic analysis. U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command

The U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command is charged with investigating serious crimes concerning the Army. CID has approximately 120 offices worldwide, 19 reserve and 6 National Guard units whose agents perform a variety of law enforcement tasks. CID has a new state-of-the-art, fully accredited forensics laboratory and has the additional mission of providing Secret Service like protection for leaders of the Defense Department.
